Questions & Answers
We want to provide seniors and their families with the most effective, helpful and safest solutions. All-Care Senior Services makes the most sensible and trustworthy option for one-to-one senior care.
1. Are you Medicare certified? Are you Medicaid certified?
Medicare certified agencies are eligible to be paid through Medicare, the government's health coverage for people over 65. To become Medicare certified, an agency must meet Federal standards for patient care. YES!! We are Medicaid certified and file Medicaid on your behalf.
2. Can my parent and I interview candidates and give input on the choice?
ABSOLUTELY!! The more control you and your parent have over choosing a home health worker, the better you will feel about the person. Wendy and Stacey personally go to your home and help you interview the appropriate worker to fit your needs and personality!!
3. What kind of background check do you do on your workers?
It's increasingly common for employers to do criminal background checks on potential employees and we ALWAYS do criminal checks! Our background and criminal checks are statewide as well as nationwide!
4. Do you check your worker's driving record and driver's license? ABSOLUTELY!! If you need someone to drive your parent, even occasionally, its important to know what kind of driver you are getting. We check with the DMV and also require all of our staff members to provide us current proof of insurance and current drivers license.
5. Are your workers bonded? ABSOLUTELY!! When a person is bonded, his/her work is basically insured and your parents will be covered!
6. Do you provide any training for your workers? ABSOLUTELY!!
We require all of our workers to keep there certifications current! We also require everyone to be CPR and First Aide Certified. We have on-going training classes on a monthly basis!
7. What kind of supervision do you provide? We check in with the workers on a daily basis. We personally go by the location at least once a week without notice to ensure that everything is being done properly! Registered Nurse supervision is a top priority and they assess the job performance of the performance bi-weekly.
8. How do you handle a worker's sick days, vacation days, and holidays? Will you automatically send a replacement worker? ABSOLUTELY!! We will always ensure coverage!
9. How do I reach someone after hours or on weekends if I need to change my care or if I have a question? All-Care is unique in that we do not use an answering service like many other companies. All-Care staff or "real, live human beings" answer the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. In addition, Stacey Abboud and Wendy Murray, the owners, carry work cell phones at all times so that they can be reached in the event that a question is beyond the expertise of the staff member answering the phone.
10. Do I need to contact my doctor if I want to use All-Care Senior Services for Home Health Services? It is not necessary for you to contact your doctor about services. If you contact our office, we will have one of our case managers contact the doctor on your behalf, receive verbal orders for care and provide documentation to the doctor about the services that we provide.
11. What do I need to do if I have a private Home Health or Long Term Care Insurance Policy? Clients with private Home Health or Long Term Care Policies simply need to contact us and provide us with information about your insurance company. All-Care will contact your insurance company and verify the coverage that is available. All-Care will then bill the insurance company on the client behalf on a weekly basis. While we are not directly related to the insurance company, and we cannot guarantee what coverage they will provide, we submit invoicing on a weekly basis as a courtesy to our clients.
12. What is the difference between Medicare services and the services provided by All-Care? Medicare is typically provided for clients who are returning home from the hospital or from a rehabilitation center. It is designed to help in the transition to home. Generally, Medicare will provide visits of a 1 hour duration or less and generally they will be scheduled on a decreasing schedule. For example, the first week a client may receive 5 visits, the second week they may receive 4 visits, the third week 2 visits and on the fourth week they may be discharged. This is part of the process of transition to home. Obviously patients who have a great need may have home care for longer durations. You should consult your physician or Medicare agency for more specific information of services which you may receive.
All-Care on the other hand provides care through direct pay from clients, as well as Home Health or Long Term Care Insurance. This care is designed not as a transition but to assist clients during their recovery. The insurance company may provide a number of hours or a number of dollars which can be used each day by the patient, assuming they have met the requirements of their policy. The care may continue for weeks, months or even years, depending on the terms of the policy.
If you have an insurance policy and you are not sure what it may cover for home care, please contact our office and we will be happy to research it on your behalf. It normally can be done very quickly as we deal with insurance companies on a daily basis.
